Moving from Great to Greater...Welcome from Superintendent Dr. Ray LechnerDear Parents, Students, and Friends, Welcome to District 39 where our mission is Teaching Tomorrow’s Leaders and creating a school community that is the best place for teachers to teach, students to learn, and families to flourish. Our six schools serve 3,700 children throughout Wilmette as well as from parts of Glenview and Winnetka. Kindergarten – 4th grade students attend one of our four elementary schools –Central, Harper, McKenzie, or Romona. In addition, Romona School is home to our district-wide preschool program. All students in the District go to Highcrest Middle School for grades 5 and 6 and to Wilmette Junior High for grades 7 and 8. Each of these schools provides a positive, nurturing environment for students, teachers and families. Academic excellence, as well as the social and emotional development of our students, is what drives our programs and inspires our staff.
